Associate Professor Janet Rimmer is a respiratory physician and allergist with a particular interest in rhinitis, asthma, anaphylaxis, food allergies and intolerances, and drug allergies.

Trained in Australia, Janet has completed an MD thesis entitled ‘Histamine releasability in asthma’ at the Garvan Institute in Sydney, as well as undertaken further research and clinical training overseas.

Although primarily a clinician, Janet has been involved in professional organisations including the Australasian Society of Clinical Immunology and Allergy, the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand, the National Asthma Council, St Vincent’s Clinic , St Vincent’s Private Hospital and Sydney Hospital (Honorary Secretary Department of Medicine and Chair Combined Medical Staff Council).

Janet has been part of the Woolcock Institute of Medical Research for 21 years and is actively involved in research projects and clinical trials related to asthma, rhinitis, and allergic disease.
